Preventative
“An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.” Benjamin Franklin may not have been talking about dentistry when he said this, but we resolutely believe that good preventative measures will help keep your mouth healthy and prevent dental surprises. The best part of preventative dentistry? It’s far less expensive than reparative dentistry! See what preventative services we offer.
Restorative
From white tooth fillings to porcelain crowns, Cherry Bay Dental offers an array of restorative services. Dr. Pfefferle’s experience and her commitment to delivering quality care is evident in her attention to detail with every service Cherry Bay Dental offers.
Cosmetic
Have all those Zoom conference calls drawn attention to your chipped or stained front tooth and you’re ready to do something about it? Are you tired of hiding behind your mask? Dr. Pfefferle prides herself in listening to your story and will help come up with exciting possibilities to give you the smile you always wanted.
Preventative
Dental Cleanings
From 6 month re-care cleanings to 3 month periodontal maintenance visits, our dental office will make sure you are receiving the appropriate care for your unique situation.
Dental Exams
If you are a new patient, we welcome you to experience our new patient comprehensive evaluation where we will thoroughly gather information. We recommend that you have your teeth examined every 6 months.
Oral Cancer Screening
We perform this complementary service at every examination. Even if you wear full dentures, we recommend you visit your dentist one time each year to evaluate your lips, cheeks, tongue, and throat and screen for any signs of changes.
Dental X-Rays
Cherry Bay Dental utilizes digital equipment to take Bitewing and Periapical radiographs, which provide about half as much radiation exposure than traditional film does. Finding decay early is best, therefore we recommend checking for signs of new decay with bitewing radiographs once per year.
Periodontal Care
If you’ve ever been diagnosed with periodontal disease, frequent cleanings are very important to keep your gum health maintained. Dr. Pfefferle and her team will monitor areas of inflammation and recommend appropriate treatment when needed.
TMJ/TMD Assessments and Treatments
If you are experiencing jaw discomfort, Dr. Pfefferle can perform a thorough evaluation to assess some potential reasons for your discomfort. She can also offer various solutions to help acute or chronic Temporomandibular issues.
Sleep Apnea
Sleep medicine has been an ever-growing topic in the world of dentistry as dentists are often the first to recognize the signs and symptoms of sleep disordered breathing. Dr. Pfefferle can screen for signs and symptoms and can help you take appropriate steps to treating sleep apnea.
Dental Emergency
We know that dental emergencies can strike at any time, and we will always try to see you as soon as possible when you are faced with a toothache. We also have an emergency phone messaging service for patients of record on the weekend. Even if we can’t see you, we can phone in an antibiotic to your pharmacy and offer you advice to get you feeling better quickly!
Restorative
Dental Fillings
Whether it be for areas of new decay, or replacing older and worn-down fillings, Cherry Bay Dental can help restore your tooth to health with dental fillings. We use tooth-colored fillings that blend in seamlessly, and Dr. Pfefferle will take the time to adjust the filling so it fits your bite naturally.
Dental Crowns
When a dental filling won’t do the trick to restore a tooth to health, a crown may be needed instead. These procedures are extremely effective for restoring a tooth that has become infected, damaged, or has fallen out.
Dental Bridges
If you have a missing tooth, a dental bridge might be a good option to restore your mouth back to health. Dr. Pfefferle can assess and discuss with you whether a bridge or an implant would be a better option for you.
Implant Crowns
A dental implant is oftentimes the best long term option for replacing a missing tooth. Dr Pfefferle and the team at Cherry Bay Dental work closely with other specialty surgeons to bring back full use of your teeth with implant crowns.
Full Dentures
Did you know that it is recommended that dentures be replaced every 5-8 years, or sooner if they have worn down quickly? Just like our natural teeth, dentures can take a beating over time and will need to be remade. Call us if you think you are in need of a new set of dentures!
Partial Dentures
Even though dental implants and bridges are typically better options for missing teeth, there are some situations where a partial denture might be the best long term option for restoring function from missing teeth. Think you might be a good candidate for partial dentures? Call us and we’ll set up a consult to evaluate your options.
Implant-Supported Dentures
Do you have rocking dentures that don’t seem to fit properly? Are you afraid that your denture might pop out at an inopportune time? Implants can greatly improve the quality of life for denture wearers!
Full Mouth Rehabilitation
Like a facelift for your teeth, a full mouth rehabilitation can restore proper function and add back what has worn down over the years. Dr. Pfefferle enjoys finding creative solutions to bringing your smile and bite back to health, because in the end, what is healthy is also beautiful! Find out how the Cherry Bay Dental team can help you restore your mouth to health by calling us and setting up your initial consultation.
Orthotic “Nightguard”
Have you been told that you grind your teeth at night? Do you wake up each morning with sore teeth and muscles, or even a headache? Lifelong grinding can wipe away enamel off the teeth and can cause lasting damage to your jaw joint. Find out how a custom-made nightguard can help protect your teeth and joints, as well as lessen or eliminate pain!
Cosmetic
Dental Bonding
This is a non-invasive procedure that is completed chairside, meaning without help from the dental lab. When you come in for your initial consultation, we will discuss the concerns you have about your teeth and then strategize as to the best way to correct them.
Porcelain Veneers
If a tooth is only slightly damaged with a small chip or crack, a veneer can be used to restore it. A veneer is a thin shell that is placed on top of a natural tooth and frequently used for restorations of the front teeth. The process of placing a veneer is similar to that of a dental crown only with less tooth preparation.
Tooth Whitening
There are several ways to whiten your teeth. An in-office whitening procedure can whiten your teeth by up to eight shades in a single office visit and do so without causing any discomfort. For those that would prefer to whiten their teeth on their own schedule, an at-home treatment may be better. In this scenario, an impression is taken of your teeth and a customized teeth whitening tray is created in a dental lab. It is made to fit perfectly so that the whitening solution stays in place, and your teeth feel comfortable.
Invisalign®
If your biggest concern is that your teeth are crooked, we can recommend a local orthodontist who uses Invisalign®. This is the best way for you to straighten your teeth if you are worried about the appearance of traditional metal braces. The Invisalign® aligners fit snugly around your teeth, and because they are clear, they blend into your smile.
